Most CSAs in New York City rely on their members to manage the administration of the CSA; this frees up the farmers to focus on growing and delivering the vegetables, and strengthens the community within a CSA. We understand that you have busy schedules, which is why we only require one hour of volunteer time for the entire season. However, we hope that your volunteer time can be used not only to help with distribution, but to meet other members and strengthen the community aspect of our CSA.
What will you do during your volunteer time?
Help out at distribution, such as letting your fellow members know what’s in that week’s share and helping us keep things orderly and clean. Throughout the season, we hope to have cooking workshops for our members; if you have experience leading cooking workshops (canning, etc,) feel free to teach a workshop as a volunteer time – just e-mail us if this is the case!
